Who We Are

This site is the home of Chris’s work as an author. It exists to share not only his writing, but also the values behind it: dignity, empathy, resilience, and the everyday strength of ordinary people.

Born in 1949 in Gloucester, England, Chris’s path has never followed just one line. From cathedral chorister to hotel and catering professional, from restaurant owner to Mayor of Wimborne, from fundraising for Mother Teresa’s mission to serving as Mayor of Poole—every chapter of Chris’s life has been one of dedication to others.

When he left catering behind to focus on social care, it wasn’t a career change—it was a calling. Chris began as a frontline care worker, eventually representing over 7,000 care professionals as Chair of a national staff association. Today, in retirement, he brings those experiences to life through writing: stories rooted in truth, character, and the richness of human experience.

Although Chris is the voice behind the words, this journey isn’t his alone. This site is for readers, supporters, collaborators, and anyone who believes in the power of storytelling to connect and heal.
